Wren Community Website:
Community Club

The WCC (Wren Community Club) is a tax exempt non-profit organization 501(c)(3). The WCC's primary purpose is to foster community spirit in Wren and to provide a building that serves as the central location for community activities. The community newsletter, Wrenditions, which goes out to all Wren addresses for free, is part of that function of fostering community spirit.

In keeping with the historic quality of its efforts, the Wren Community Club established in the 1930¹s, has kept its original name. The "club," however clubbish-sounding, assures that membership is open to ALL Wren residents and property owners from the rural area of Wren. All it takes to join is submission of a membership form and a one-time membership fee of 50 cents. On the first Monday of each December, the WCC holds its elections for its Board of Directors whose mission is to see to the affairs of the organization. Its monthly meetings (generally the 2nd Wednesday of the month) are open and welcome to the public. Check the Events Page for the time and date of the next meeting.

In 1938, the Raymond Investment Company donated 1.2 acres of land to the Wren Community Club to be used for community functions and basketball for the local school children. Neighbors and mill owners contributed lumber, time and talents to build the Wren Community Hall which stands on that property and is now an historic building. For many years it had been used as the local voting site, and until Spring 2005 was used as the indoor Horseshoe courts for regional players.

The Wren Community Hall has long been been in need of TLC. Currently, Wren Community Club members have been involved in the process of bringing the building back to a functional state. We now have running water and indoor restrooms! Community events have been hosted at the Wren Community Hall and the building is now available for use by members and for the public. See Community Hall page or contact Karen Kennedy (929-5711) for more information.
